Museums in Mikonos

Archaeological Museum of Mykonos: Ii was built in the early 20th century in Kamnaki, a dominant position in the harbor, to house the rich findings from the Rhenia excavations in 1898. The museum also has impressive collection of pottery, representative of Cycladic pottery from the Geometric period to the 6thB.C. Black and red pottery, Hellenistic funerary reliefs and sculptures also dominate the halls of the museum. Among the findings, what stands out is the large 'Pithos Mykonos' with rich reliefs from the Trojan War. (Archaeological Museum Tel: 22890 to 22 325

Folklore Museum of Mykonos: The Folklore Museum of Mykonos is located at Castle and housed in an old two-storey house. Hosts collections of antique furniture, Byzantine icons, folk pottery, old souvenirs and decorative / historic dishes. Visitors can also see a rich collection of embroidery, weaving, keys, weights and measures and models ploion.Telos is an important archive of manuscripts and printed works, photographs, maps and library.

Aegean Maritime Museum: Museum with special exhibits and special interest found in Windmills of Mykonos. Simulated oarsmen, sailboats and ships etmilaton show the evolution of navigation dominated the Aegean Sea from prehistoric times until today. Its exhibits also include maps, engravings, ancient coins, 'amforeis' kai navigation instruments.
